So last night was my school's senior prom night.
I didn't go, of course, because I'm not interested in paying money to be molested on a dance floor and get my dress ruined (sorry Maya, i know it sucks, I just had to use that as an example u__u). Instead, I hung out with one of my friends who wasn't going to prom either and we watched movies. which was cool.
But I realized today that what blows my mind is the ridiculous things that teenagers give value to these days. I've recently discovered that compared to my peers I'm extremely old-fashioned in my morals. What they find interesting: dirty dancing, shit music, the status quo. What I find interesting: actual dancing, good music, and (in the words of Dr. Horrible) destroying the status quo because the status is not quo. These dumb teenagers are only interested in sexuality and popularity. It's sickening to me.
It makes me a little sad because I thought those people were my friends.
Honestly, though, we're just too fundamentally different to ever get along.
I would much rather be with smart people who value the same things I do... like you guys ;w; *hugs you all*
(So for my followers on twitter who saw my tyrade and were like wtf lauren whats going on, that's all that was xD;; I said something anti-prom that ruffled someone's feathers and it inspired me to troll for a little bit. So no worries, none of it was directed at the UTAU fandom xD

So they think more "modernly" than you would, so what? Just because it's modern doesn't mean it's cool, nor good. The dirt and sexuality are the sad reality of some of the modern entertainment, and it's disgusting, I honestly do not see how people can partake interest in things like that. I mean, it's fine to joke around about it and stuff, but to listen to that kind of music 24/7, and to look at stars who are dirty and terrible role models is kind of... Just ugh.
I wouldn't look at you as old-fashioned, I'd look at you as realistic. To like things that actually have value and meaning. Whereas the things those "friends" like don't really mean much, moral-wise.
